International Women’s Day (IWD), celebrated annually on March 8, recognizes the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women while advocating for gender equality. This year’s theme, “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls,” reminds us that women currently hold only 64% of the legal rights of men worldwide, highlighting the urgent need to advance equality and opportunity for women and girls in South Sudan and across the globe.
At Assistance Mission for Africa, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and leadership of South Sudanese women who continue to build families, strengthen communities, and inspire positive change every day.
