EMPOWERED TO RISE

In Payinjiar County, Martha Nyatot Biel—fondly known as Queen Martha—stands as a testament to resilience and transformation.
For years, like many women in her community, Martha faced the daily struggle of providing for her family amid challenging conditions. But through the support of the Assistance Mission for Africa (AMA) under the RSRTF project, her story began to change. By joining a women’s group and participating in VSLA activities, she gained not only financial stability but also the confidence and skills to build a better future.
Today, Martha has invested in her garden, grown her small business, and is able to support her household independently. Beyond that, she has become a voice of encouragement in her community—sharing knowledge, promoting peace, and uplifting others along the way.
Her journey reflects the true impact of empowering women at the grassroots level—where change begins with one individual and spreads across entire communities.
“Now I am capable, strong, and joyful.”
Martha’s words are more than a statement—they are a reflection of what is possible when opportunity meets determination.
